Swans Trail Farms is a working farm with uneven terrain and transitions between pavement, gravel, dirt, and grass. Please review the information below before visiting, especially if you have limited mobility or use a mobility aid.

Farm Terrain & Surface Transitions

There is no continuous paved, smooth, or level route throughout the farm. Guests travel over pavement, gravel, dirt, and grass, often moving from one surface to another.

Where pavement meets grass, gravel, or dirt, there may be uneven edges, dips, or changes in height and ground firmness. Other areas may have slopes, ruts, loose gravel, mud, or soft ground. Grass can conceal uneven spots, and agricultural areas may contain vines and other plant growth. Conditions vary with weather and farm activity.

These surfaces can affect footing and balance for guests walking independently or using mobility aids. Wheels on rollators, walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters may catch, sink, slip, or stop unexpectedly, which can cause loss of balance, tipping, or a fall.

A mobility aid that works well on pavement may perform differently on farm terrain. Some areas may be difficult to navigate depending on current conditions and the device being used.

Please watch the ground ahead, approach surface changes carefully, and follow your device manufacturer’s operating instructions and terrain limitations.

Will I Be Able to Get Around With My Mobility Aid?

Mobility aids are welcome! However, welcoming your device does not mean every area will be easy for you to navigate.

Each guest’s abilities and mobility device are different. We cannot determine whether you will be able to navigate the farm safely or comfortably. Please review the terrain information above and your device manufacturer’s guidance when planning your visit.

We’re happy to answer questions about specific surfaces and current conditions so you can make an informed decision. If you need personal assistance, please plan to bring a caregiver or companion.

Wheelchairs & Mobility Aids

Manual and power wheelchairs, mobility scooters designed primarily for individuals with mobility disabilities, walkers, rollators, canes, crutches, and other manually powered mobility aids are welcome in all areas open to pedestrian use. Advance permission is not required.

For everyone’s safety, mobility devices must:

• Travel at a safe walking speed appropriate for ground and crowd conditions

• Be operated carefully around other guests, especially young children

• Remain under the operator’s control

• Follow posted directions and staff instructions

• Keep entrances, exits, and pathways clear, while allowing guests to stop as needed to access services and attractions

Personal Assistance & Caregiver Tickets

We do not provide mobility equipment or personal assistance to help guests navigate the property. If you need personal assistance, please arrange to bring a caregiver or companion.

We offer one complimentary admission ticket for a caregiver or 1:1 aide assisting a ticketed guest who requires mobility assistance.

Pick up the caregiver ticket at Admissions when you arrive. Please purchase all other required admission tickets online before heading to the farm to secure your preferred date and time.

Other Power-Driven Mobility Devices

Other Power-Driven Mobility Devices (OPDMDs) are powered devices used by individuals with mobility disabilities that are not wheelchairs. Examples include golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, and certain personal transporters.

These devices may be permitted subject to legitimate safety requirements. Our assessment considers:

• The device’s type, size, weight, dimensions, and speed

• Pedestrian traffic and crowd conditions

• The area’s layout and operation

• Whether safety measures can permit the device’s use

• Potential serious harm to agricultural land or environmental resources

Restrictions may apply to specific device types, areas, or operating times based on actual safety risks.

Fuel- or Combustion-Powered Devices

Fuel- or combustion-powered OPDMDs are not permitted during public operating hours.

Our public hours involve heavy pedestrian traffic, families with young children, and shared pathways through attraction areas. This restriction addresses exhaust, heat, fire hazards, and the challenges of maneuvering these devices around guests.

This restriction does not apply to standard power wheelchairs or electric mobility scooters designed primarily for individuals with mobility disabilities.

If you plan to bring an OPDMD, we encourage you to contact us with the device’s type and general dimensions so we can explain applicable restrictions. You do not need to disclose your diagnosis or the nature of your disability.
