Why We Do Farmer Camp
Every summer, something special happens out here on the farm.
The fields get a little louder, a little messier, and a whole lot more joyful. You’ll hear kids laughing as they move from activity to activity, asking questions we sometimes forget to ask as adults. You’ll see muddy boots, sticky fingers, wide eyes, and curiosity that comes from real, hands-on experience—not a screen.
That’s Farmer Camp. And it’s why we do what we do.
Farming has always been about more than growing food. It’s about understanding where food comes from, respecting the land that grows it, and learning patience, responsibility, and care through real experience.
Farmer Camp gives kids that chance.
They don’t just hear about farm life—they live it. They help care for animals and learn what it takes to keep a farm running day to day. They also get to spend time with some of our favorite animals, including baby doll sheep, donkeys, alpacas, and chicks. And on one special day, they may even get to gently hold a chick—always a highlight of the week.
Along the way, they’re introduced to STEM learning in a real-world setting and explore sustainable farming practices, seeing how science, nature, and farming all connect.
They learn that animals require care, that farms take teamwork, and that everything here has a purpose.
But Farmer Camp is about more than learning. It’s about growing confidence, curiosity, and connection.
What You Benefit from Farmer Camp
Kids leave camp with real, hands-on understanding they can’t get in a classroom alone. They build responsibility by taking part in daily farm activities, and they gain confidence by trying new things and working together in groups.
They also leave with exposure to STEM concepts and sustainable farming practices, along with a deeper appreciation for animals, food systems, and the world around them—plus memories they’ll talk about long after summer ends.
What We Love About Farmer Camp
We love watching kids light up when they meet the animals for the first time—especially the baby doll sheep, donkeys, alpacas, and chicks. And nothing beats the excitement of the day they get to hold a chick in their hands.
We love seeing shy kids open up, new friendships form, and confidence grow right before our eyes. The farm feels different during camp days in the very best way.
We also love the questions, the curiosity, and the energy they bring. It reminds us why this place matters.
We’re looking forward to welcoming campers in over the next couple weeks for 2026 Summer Farmer Camp. Farmer Camp isn’t just something we host on the farm. It’s something we believe in. And that’s why we do it!
